Summerville, SC
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the act of inserting hairlike needles into channels called meredins that influence the movement energy (Qi) in the body.  Health is promoted in the body when the energy is moving properly.  When the energy is moving with difficulty or the energy is blocked, illness begins.  The acupuncturist locates the acupuncture points and uses needles to access the meredian to encourage a dynamic flow of energy.
What Kind of Needles are Used?
Acupuncture needles are solid and slightly thicker than a human hair.  They are stainless steel, pre-sterilized, disposable, and one time use needles.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
When inserted, some patients say that they feel a tingling sensation while others say they feel nothing at all.  Many patients report a deep relaxation and sometimes fall asleep during treatment.
What Does Acupuncture Treat?
Eye,ear, nose, and throat dsorders, circulatory disoders, gastrointestinal disorders, gynecological and genitourinary disorders, immune disorders, addictions to nicotene, alcohol and drugs, emotional and psychological disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, respiratoy disorders such as asthma, allergies, pain, stress, the side effects of chemotherapy, diabetes, dermatological disorders, weight control, and many more.
What are the benefits of having Acupuncture?
After Acupuncture treatment, many patients report a great sense o happiness and increased vitality and stamina.  Many report improvement in overall health with quicker recovery from illness and injury.  Many report that Acupuncture has helped them to be pain free while others report that they get sick less often and have a more positive outlook on life.  While we like to educate people on the many natural and holistic practices, we refer people to licensed practitioners for acupuncture.
How long are the appointments and how many treatments will I need?
The first appointment will last for two hours.  This is your first two hours of in depth transition with your main complaint, to the life history of yourself, your family, and and your family history.  Future appointments could last from 45 minutes to an hour. Each patient is a unique individual and has their own healing time.  Some people may have to come for a few visits while others may require more time.  Each session is individually planned, and no two sessions may be the same.  EACH INDIVIDUAL
is unique!  Each individual has their own healing time!
